Signal splitters are used to divide signals on a network. It will take a single port feed from either an antenna or repeater and divide it into additional ports to expand coverage. It is important to note that every time you divide a signal, there are signal losses incurred. The quality of the signal splitter and the number of ports you divide the signal by will determine how much loss has incurred. All these values need to be taken into consideration when working out a link budget for an in-building system.
