Two of the worlds most expensive Yachts use JDTECK's cellular solutions to enhance on-board cellular coverage.
Lady Moura is one of the world's most expensive yachts costing in excess of $200 Million. She is owned by Saudi billionaire businessman, Nasser Al-Rashid who is also an advisor to the Saudi Royal family. Lady Moura was previously outfitted with a cellular repeater system by a German company. This system never performed well and had constant issues with network integration from service operators on the French Reviera and the Principality of Monaco.
JDTECK was contacted by a French marine satellite company with many years of experience in the yachting industry to upgrade the system on Lady Moura. After signing an NDA, we were provided with wiring diagrams to the vessel. From this, it was clear to us that the original system was very poorly designed. Just a very complicated web of components that were used to try and patch a system with the hopes of making it work, but which never did.
We made our recommendations of the changes that needed to be made. We were then informed of the added challenge to redesign the entire system while making use of the existing cabling paths that were already in place because it was virtually impossible to redo it. This meant creating a new distribution grid from a very complicated set of fixed parameters. Knowing which lines to drop, merge and reconfigure was the focus. This was successfully done, together with all the peripheral equipment like antennas, couplers, splitters and cellular repeater being changed to our equipment.
Lady Moura is now able to enjoy seamless cellular coverage on all levels from the network operators, including the full experience of their iPads at 3G speeds, which her crew and guests were not able to enjoy prior to upgrading to JDTECK's equipment.

JDTECK also supplied the repeater system for Al Salamah, another one of the world's most expensive yachts built by German company Lurssen Yachts. Al Salamah is owed by a member of the Saudi Royal family, Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz. Lurssen Yachts has been a customer of JDTECK since 2003.
