All of our repeaters are also tested to meet the highest standards in cellular communications today. These include ETSI (European Telecommunications Standard Institute), 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project), CE (Conformité Européenne) and FCC (Federal Communications Commission). Not all manufacturers have the ability to complete this level of testing on their products nor have the engineering capabilities to have their products meet these standards. You may find that our products are not the cheapest on the market. That's because we do not use short cut engineering practices when producing a product.

Respect for the Operator’s Network with Advanced Product Features

To maintain safe and specific output signal levels, all of our repeaters have built-in AGC and ALC circuits, that run an active software which can automatically control the gain of the repeater within a 15dB range depending on environmental conditions.

In addition, they all feature a manual gain control that allows you to manually attenuate (fine tune) the repeater's uplink and downlink channels individually, in 1db steps up to 31dB, using color changing alarm LED's as a status indicator.

These Alarm LED's are used as a guide to prevent your installation from re-producing errors due to excessive input signal if a pre-amp is used, or from signal oscillation due to the indoor antenna and outdoor antenna being too close to each other, which can have adverse effects on a base station.

A Network Safe / MUTE Feature has also been added to all our repeaters to protect the cellular network.
In short, the repeater will stop transmitting if any errors or signal oscillation is detected within 2 sec
of detection. It will cycle for 30 sec then attempt to transmit again. If no adjustment in gain has been made
to correct the error within the 30 sec MUTE cycle, the system will again shut down after 2 sec.
It will run this sequence for a total of 3 times and then shut down completely. Cycling the power on the
unit will reset this sequence. You will not get our repeaters to transmit if errors are detected.

So how does one determine if they are doing business with an experienced company or not? Well, product range is one good barometer. An experienced company will be able to offer you a wide range of products from their own portfolio of products to suit many different applications (Remote, Large Buildings, Outdoors, Marine, Off Shore, Custom Integration, etc). An inexperienced company, on the other hand, will try to sell you a “one size fits all” solution, perhaps changing a component here or there and labeling it with a different name; really limited options when you take a closer look.

Lately, you will notice a large number of websites offering cellular signal-enhancement solutions with everyone claiming to be a "specialist", "professional", or that their product is the "best!". But upon closer examination, you will notice that they all seem to carry the same few limited brands available on the market. Brands with very limited track records. The very fact that many of these websites are supporting these sub-standard brands mitigates their claim of being professionals or specialists. The reason is that many of these brands do not meet quality-testing standards when placed on test equipment.

Beware of companies that avoid providing detailed specifications, only show very small and blurred images of their products or are not able to provide any FCC or CE certification for their products. A professional company that stands behind its products will not be afraid to provide in-depth specifications and close-up photos of what they produce, so you can see exactly what you are getting before you make a purchase.

Please do your research carefully as the customer. Examine all the products offered on the market and it will become very apparent that there are really limited options to your custom requirements outside the product range of the JDTECK brand. Double check the specifications. The choice will be obvious.

What You Should Know

There are manufacturers that use a false unit of measure to advertise the output power of their Wireless BDA’s. For example, you may see the power rating of "3 Watts" advertised on a consumer model Wireless BDA or Repeater, but is this rating accurate? Well, there is an equation used to convert Watts into Decibels. In short, you can easily cross-reference the accuracy of the data.

The equation is: dBm=10* LOG (W x 1000)

To make this easy to understand, we will use a conversion calculator. If, for example, you were to input the number 3 in the watts field, you will get the equivalent rating in dB's. 3 Watts, for example, is equal to 34.771213 dBm.

Do you have any idea how powerful a real 34.77dBm output power Wireless Repeater is? Let’s put it this way; you can provide cellular coverage to a building 100 times the size of an average home with a repeater that powerful. These are repeaters we supply to network operators for use in large building projects. So clearly, this is not accurate data when referring to Wireless BDA’s for consumer use.

In recent times, several sub-standard brands with their apparent lack of experience in cellular communications are supplying repeaters and other cellular equipment solutions with 75 (Ohms) RG6 Cable TV coax. This coax is used simply because it’s cheap to source. However, all cellular equipment including antennas, splitters, repeaters, combiners, etc, operate at 50 (Ohms). But why is this an issue? Well, this impedance mismatch between the coax and equipment will increase the VSWR value (Vertical Standing Wave Ratio); or, in simpler terms, it will decrease how efficient the signal flows between the components, causing a high level of signal reflection.

Signal reflection will not only affect the true potential voice quality of the call, but will also drastically reduce the life span of your product. In a few short years, you would be out looking for a replacement (perhaps intended?). RG6 coax is NOT designed for cellular applications. Don't be misguided to believe otherwise, as it will cost you more in the long run. With JDTECK, however, you can be assured that we do not compromise on quality, and you will enjoy many years of trouble-free service with our brand. Remember, you get what you pay for!!!

You also will not find any of our repeaters or boosters with proprietary connectors forcing you to only purchase accessories from us. RF Adapters are available to mate our products to any other accessories available on the market from any other manufacturers.
